From a young age, my empathetic nature drew me to a caring profession, leading me naturally into the medical field. My journey, from specialising as a General Practitioner, studying for special interests in Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine and medical education, has always been driven by my commitment to care, precision, and honesty. These values are deeply woven into both my professional and personal life.

 

I graduated from Witwatersrand University Medical School in 1992, later specializing as a general practitioner in the UK. I earned membership in the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in 2002 and a diploma from the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRCOG).

 

While working as a GP in Northumberland and participating in dermatology clinics, I discovered my passion for dermatology and skin care. This led me to obtain a Diploma in Practical Dermatology from Cardiff University.

In 2003, I returned to South Africa and combined my expertise in GP, Dermatology, and Aesthetic Medicine to establish my own clinic, offering injectable treatments and medical-grade therapies for skin conditions.

 

By 2012, I became one of the first South African medical practitioners to earn Board Certification with the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and a founding member of the Allergan Medical Aesthetics Academy in South Africa.

 

I am dedicated to educating fellow doctors in Aesthetic Medicine, having been actively involved in teaching and training for over fifteen years.

 

My commitment to professional excellence extends to helping other medical practitioners reach their full potential.

Since relocating to New Zealand, I have completed the Diploma in Cosmetic Medicine through NZSCM and am now part of the senior education faculty of NZSCM.

I also proudly contribute to the Teoxane Education Team, enhancing the skills of injectors with Dermal Fillers.

I strive to help patients make informed choices in their Aesthetics journey, offering accurate and safe information amid the overwhelming fake news and misinformation. It is crucial to maintain a healthy perception of aesthetics in today’s social media-driven world.

Above all, I am a devoted mother, married with three children—a grown-up daughter and teenage twins. Outside of medicine, my life is enriched by family, friends, and fitness—the perfect recipe for a healthy, happy life.
